Anika just had her 3rd birthday celebration and after preparing for months, I can say, I really got what i wanted. haha!
Since she was turning 3, we knew she would enjoy her party a lot more than her previous ones. So we really did make an extra effort to make something special for her.
But I think it wouldn't have turned out as it did if it weren't for the really great suppliers I had. (ok, some were not as great as the others, but I promised R-Jay not to dwell on the ugly parts since the party was 95% successful)
If any of you are interested to get party suppliers here are some of the ones we used.
Party Set-up was done by Jhoanne Alon (09198047006) of polkadotevens.mulitply.com. It was our first event together... and it will surely not be our last! I have no intentions of getting any other person since Jhoanne was extremely accommodating! She was suppose to just do the dress-up but she was so nice, she stayed the whole party and even took care of the registration booth and everything that came with it. She kept on going to me asking if i needed anything and seeing to it the small little things were all taken cared of! Those were not part of her job anymore but I truly appreciated all the help.
When the kids arrived, they were made to sign a guestbook also c/o Jhoanne. After they were given small treasure maps which indicated all the games and activities they could enjoy that afternoon. The treasure maps were done by business.shoppe. multiply.com. Kids were also made to pick from several types of pirate masks available (made by partybasics.multiply.com c/o heidi yao 09176289802), they also had eye patches (i had these made) and bandanas (some from jhoanne, some from divi & some from joyce).
We had 3 game booths. Pirates and mermaids, croco fun and catch the fish... all from Jhoanne. i just added prizes since they came with 30 prizes each and I was expecting a lot more kids than that.
Face painting and glitter tattoo was done by Joyce Tambangan (09194834683). Super nice!!!
I got my mylar balloons from partybasics.mutiply too. but Jhoanne again added to what i got.
To add more decors, I got pirate accessories/toys from Oriental trading and amazon.
All our prizes came from divisoria. I asked my office staff to spend one saturday morning there searching for pirate stuff and other prizes.
The yummy food we served was from Sitio Oriente. (c/o Rey/Alvin 7338711/7359513) This was our 3rd party with them and everytime, they do not disappoint. I got a lot of positive comments regarding this and even if the party was over, there was so much food left! Plus I had so much requests like to add more chairs and tables, to change the free adult centerpieces to balloons for all the kids tables, to asking for fish bowls for our fresh fish, to requesting for colored papers plates... everything they gave me!... with no additional fees!
Of course our party would not be complete without food carts... and it is always R-Jay's favorites... cotton candy, snow cone and dirty ice cream. We always get them from Triple MJ (I forgot their new name Vessel of something) 09202545123/09185285476. Mario and his wife Jasmin are very easy to talk to and their prices are so low compared to party suppliers. I can't get from anyone else after I met them.
Birthday cake and cupcakes were from Cakecraft (ok, since i received an inquiry regarding this this january 2009, i will be very honest.... i really did not like their service!!! don't get from them if you trust me! please! my cake came with ANIKA's name broken! and she did not want to do anything about it! can you believe that! she told me in her text and when we talked on the phone about an hour and a half before my party... WALA NA DAW SYA MAGAGAWA ABOUT IT? is that right? I had to freak out and get mad just for her to produce the perfect A_N_I_K_A!!! She delivered it the night befroe to Johanne's place broken, diba she should have fixed the problem already? no! she didnt even call me to inform me. Surprise! my husband saw it na lang borken pala! I had my staff call bakers just to look for letters. Anika and I were in costume na, we had to passby rockwell powerplant to get pa icing for the letters cuz was gonna fix it myself na sana. buti na lang i didnt go down poweplant or we would have looked so funny, both in costume, me with my big tummy, in july! so i really, really willnever ever get from cake crafts again. mintik na masira all my preparations because of them. remember i was 7 months pregnant pa naman!)
but I also added 11 dozens of cupcakes for Cupcakesforless.multiply.com. I just chances upon her site and her cupcakes were really really affordable.
Photo/video was done by Revoly Cortez. Rev (09159403451) used to work as a photojournalist for one of the leading newspapers until he decided to do private work. He now takes care of all the photo and videos of our parties. I think he just cant say no to me so everything I asked for, he also gave. We had on-the spot printing of pictures (which we placed on Monkey Pirate Picture frames I got from Oriental trading), a photo mosaic of Anika, a tarpolin backdrop for the photos, an Avp. He is also giving us both the edited and unedited video of our party with all the pictures.
Party host was Wacky. (09193217244) He was able to entertain both kids and adults plus he speaks in english so Anika's foreign classmates were able to understand the whole party. haha! Wacky is also easy to talk to and is very affordable. He also makes sure no one gets bored at the party.
We had 2 statue mimers. I saw them at Festival Mall a couple of months ago and Anika just didn't want to leave them! I got them directly so it was less than usual. (Rundell 0928451904)
Our sound system was from Jansen. (09178537028) We've used him before and he is very reliable.
Business.shoppe also did our pop-up invites, 5x5 guestbook & personalized school supplies.
Charms!charms!multiply.com c/o myn made our thank you tags and additional invites.
I also ordered thank you stickers from iprint.
Pinatas were also from Jhoanne. We got a tinerkbell and captain hook pinata.
We had our guests come in pirate costumes so that Anika would stand out as Tinkerbell. Rjay dressed up as Captain Hook and I was Peter Pan. We had all our costumes made from Cargin's Dance wear (9864566). He has been doing our costumes for many years now. He also did our lootbags, brown drawstring bags which i placed pirate pins on.
I prepared two types of lootbags. One for babies (1 1/2 and below) and another for toddlers and older kids. The one for babies contained a small doll and some snacks while the other lootbag had the personalized school supplies and more snacks. I also personalized everything so each kid had their names on their bags. Wanted this so everyone would surely bring home something.
We also had personalized chocolate bars made. It had Anika's picture and details and i placed small names on each... again so that everyone would be able to get and bring home one. I got this from Anne's sweettooth.mulitply. We gave this to the adults before they left the venue.
Since we knew it was an effort to dress up for the party, we gave out "awards" for the best costumes and several other categories we could think of. Jhoanne found crocodile dolls that the kids and adults liked.
I was also worried that the party suppliers wouldnt have anything to eat, plus the drivers of our visitors would go hungry so I had packed merienda ordered for them. I got this from Melvin de los Santos. (09283156084). Cheap but good and clean.
We also had portraits and an avp made from Picture Company Rockwell.
All in all, we had great people to help us out with our party so if any of you may need party suppliers, i hope you can consider them. (",)
 | congrats! sounds like a big successful bash. can't wait for the pics! how cute that she wore tinkerbell while everyone was pirates! glad to hear you were able to make the party:) of course mawawala ba si mommy:) great job.

 | i hope you get new customers from Anika's party. ;0) |
| CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! i love love how you even pre=packed the merienda for the drivers etc. happy birthday to anika! - charmaine |
 | Hats off to you Leslie for all the prepwork and the successful party! Audric had a super good time (too bad Aris fell sick on that day, but she enjoyed the contents of her loot bag the following day). |
 | .... oops! i forgot to add, i got pirate bangles and earrings from BBB and also cute fish chocolates which were spread on the adult and kiddies tables from GQXOCOLATE.multiply.com. Early kids started eating the chocos even befroe the start of party. This site also had nice chocolate treasure chests but i saw it late na and already ordered my centerpieces. |
 | WOW! It what a major production, ang galing nyo! =) Please post pictures na, i'm excited to see them! |

 | thanks guys for appreciating Anika's party.... I had a great time planning it and she enjoyed it tremendously! ...even R-Jay had no complains even if he knew I went overboard on this one. haha!... cant wait to plan our next baby's 1st birthday next year... oh after the birth and the baptismal! |
 | wow, i am also planning my baby peachy's first b-day on january 2 and still finding things for her tinkerbell party, i had a hard time finding tinkerbell items at divisoria, i have searched the whole place but at least i got small cute items. I have decided to buy the other freebies sa SM. Now, i am back at home and still searching the net for a tinkerbell pinata, it was really a sad thing that here in our place they don't know what pinata is., Kainis .... thanks for your informative details regarding your childs party, i learned a lot |
 | hi!!! thanks for the info!! can you please post again the number of Rundell, the statue mimer, it has 6 numbers only.. thank you so much for the big help! |

 | hello! looks like you had a great party! i'm also jhoanne's client for our upcoming party this february and my son is also having a pirate party. we've been planning since June last year but i've been having a hard time looking for pirate themed prizes for the party here in Manila... any suggestions? we got some from the US and online already but it's still not enough.
thanks in advance! you have gorgeous kids btw :) |

thanks in advance! you have gorgeous kids btw :) hi! thanks a lot! for prizes, it was really difficult to find pirate prizes so i asked my staff to go to divisoria (since i was on complete bedrest at that time). they got different characters instead but when my mom went to divisoria (super happy she did) she was able to find numerous things (in 30 minutes, haha!) like pins (which we used to decorate the loot bags), bandana hats (gave away when people arrived), cellphone cases (which i turned into small pouches and placed gold coins inside), stickers (used as prizes for the game booths), skull keychains (also as prizes).
national bookstore had a set of coloring books for less than 200. we used them also prizes for best costume.
our guests really came in complete costume so i gave away close to 20 grand prizes for those who made an effort. johanne was able to find crocodile dolls plus we had chocolates and the coloring books. we had awards for best female and make adults, boys and girls, scariest, cleanest, couple, senior citizen, cutest, dirtiest, and so much more i forgot already.
have you tried oriental trading? they have lots of pirate stuff. i got to decorate our centerpieces with stuff i got there. but if your party in february, you have to rush the deliver.... i had to pay more because i ordered late and my tita had to send it here by kilo/pounds so mahal.
anyway, hope this info helps you.

 | tuttijavee wrote on Jan 14, '09, edited on Jan 14, '09 hi guys! thanks again for appreciating Anika's party. Also, if you get any of our suppliers, i'm sure you wont have any problems. Funny cuz I see a lot of our suppliers now in parties of friends we attend and so far no one has had any bad experiences with them. ... plus, i always hear the same thing," Les, mas mura talaga suppliers mo!" (ahem, ahem, they should give me na a cut for advertising them to no end)
This year Anika will have a very very small party since its her brother's turn. R-Jay said no party but looks like Ive convinced him to have a small "make you own activities party" so everything will be home made. I just want to have art stuff and food decorating 4 year old kids will enjoy. We were also thinking of a "kids time" only so less adults. hahaha!
But for Shuey, i've already booked Joyce, Sitio Oriente and Wacky! Since a friend needed some help looking for suppliers and i talkd to them, told them also about Shuey's sept 27 party. I will surely get Johanne again and the rest of our suppliers... just still contemplating on the theme... and the BUDGET! lol! |
 | hi! been getting PMs regarding Rundell's number. i missed one number in the blog. here it is...09284561904. hope that helps! |
 | thanks for your input!
we went to divisoria and was able to find stuff with really good prices. we ordered from oriental trading last year pa and was able to take it home with us. nakakapagod to do all the preparations! but i'm sure it's gonna be all worth it once i see our little boy having fun at his 1st party! |
 | Hi, my name's Melaine. I need help with the party decorations please, i'm having a hard time cause i'm working on a very tight budget, but i want a neverland theme. Where did you get the backdrop of captain hook etc. where can i buy that or rent it help pls., and can you pls. give me an idea as to the cost of the decorations. I really need a backdrop, did you buy yours or just rent it. Can I get your phone number so i can ask you for advice, help pls. Pls. text me at 09062064244, tnx. Your party idea is exactly like mine but I'm just having problems carrying it out. |
 | Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of holding the party in a garden with plenty of trees and christmas lights. I'm thinking of decorating the place with flower balloon centerpieces or treasure chests and hanging little butterflies all around. I just hope there won't be any rain on her birthday, May 17. P.S. Your daughter is real pretty. |
 | hi melaine! thanks a lot! hope my pm helped you with your party. good luck!!!
... if you are having it in a garden, that would look really nice if your motif is neverland! you dont need to put too much decor.... if you want, you can also have small tents, just to make sure if it rains or becomes too hot, you have a back-up plan. ... that was our concern that's why we have ours indoors. during anika's 1st birthday, it rain in july! |
 | hi everyone! Rundell's number is 09284561904. |
 | thanks to your suppliers rating :) im now sure of getting joyce tambangan for my daughter's 3rd bday party on june. |
 | thanks for the info- im elaine's sister- had ordered balloons from Jhoanna before for my daughter's baptismal and she's commendable- maayos kausap. I understand how you feel for the cake coz it happened to me too. We celebrated my son's 2nd birthday at Mc Donald's eastwood but since Mc Donald;s has limited theme character, i made extra effort to make it Blue's Clues theme. I also ordered from GQxolate for the munchin boxes and filled it up with chocolate crayons (also from GQ). and made a handy dandy activity notebook. I had my cake customized at Perfect Moments (stall at Blue Wave Marikina-near our place). Well, the fondant character(blue) which initially should be 3 dimensional turned out to be a flat one- placing it on the side. The character had cracks on it and they reasoned out that its because of the fondant...hello???that's why it should be smooth right?...and just because they have so many orders...Hello??? is that a good reason???? Nakakainis talaga...and they left the cake bare on top...nakakainis talaga..Coz i even went to her residence to confirm everything--Well, the owner is Jojie Po..About to order pa sana for the daughter's 1st birthday this June, pero di na lang...now im reading your site looking for cake suppliers..:-( but with Mc Donald's 2 thumbs up!!! since there were no other parties that day, they let us stay from 3-7pm!!! The place accomodates only 60 pax but it turned out to be so personal---and everybody enjoyed it. They provided 2 mascots. Even the adults enjoyed Kid Mc Do and Grimace. Will post pics soon..thanks again for info. |
 | how much rent for tables and chairs? pm me asap. thanks, :) |
 | thanks for this info sis! |

I also planned to get my son's 2nd bday cake (last year) from them. I inquired on a Monday and they said I should call them by Wednesday to confirm my orders. (Celebration is on Monday) I called them on Wednesday morning but there was no answer. I tried calling again on the afternoon, again, there was no answer. So I just confirmed my orders through their multiply site hoping they'll get my orders. But then I called them the following day asking if they got my orders through their multiply site. Sabi nila hindi daw pwede magconfirm through email, sabi ko e kasi tumatawag ako yesterday pero walang sumasagot. I got pissed off when they said na hindi na daw pwede ihabol yung orders ko. Busy na daw sila sa paggawa ng cakes. And so?? I just ordered for an 8" cake and 20 cupcakes. Is that so hard to do?? And then I read your blog, ang naiisip ko tuloy sa kanila, hindi talaga sila ang gumagawa ng cakes, inoorder lang nila sa iba. (JUST MY THOUGHT) It looks exactly like Kitchen Krafts by the way. |

(so it was not bad for sure). so in all honesty, they can do naman a good job.
but another friend of mine had her tita's birthday cake made. she texted me right after the event cuz she wanted to ask if cakecraft was the one who did anika's cake. anyway, she said the cake was delivered late to the party. so the party started na. then when it came it was "tabingi". when they asked why it was like that and what can be done. the person who delivered it said, it got tabingi because of the car (or whatever they used) ride.
ok ba yun???
but anyway, i think naman they do their own cakes. i really am not sure.
but their cakes look very similar to kitchen krafts. actually, that's exactly what my husband said. this september, my son is celebrating his brithday and i got from kitchen krafts. my husband reacted because he said "isn't it the same cake maker? why is the lettering and icing the same" hehe!
i got from kitchen krafts na para sure it will be nice. ;0)
